Retail Security Officer – Grocery Store Environment

A2A Security is on the lookout for professional and committed Security Officers to join our Retail / Loss Prevention team in New York City, NY. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a secure shopping atmosphere in grocery and food retail settings.

Position Summary:
As a Security Officer, you will be tasked with safeguarding the store, deterring theft, and supporting both customers and staff. Your visible presence will not only help prevent criminal activity but also improve the overall shopping experience for our customers.

Main Duties:

• Maintain a noticeable security presence throughout the store to dissuade theft and ensure a safe environment.
• Observe customer behavior and activities to identify any suspicious behavior.
• Quickly respond to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances, and assist store personnel as required.
• Perform regular patrols of the location to confirm all areas are secure.
• Prepare comprehensive incident reports and keep accurate logs of activities and observations.
• Uphold store policies and procedures to foster a safe shopping atmosphere.

Qualifications:

• A valid New York Security Guard License is required.
• Prior experience in security, especially in retail or loss prevention, is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are crucial.
• Dependability, punctuality, and professionalism are essential traits.
• Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations.

Work Environment:

• This role offers both full-time and part-time positions.
• Shifts will include daytime and evening hours based on operational requirements.
• Competitive pay ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
